Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life through her vivid and far-ranging imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she was able to read or write. Once she had her first guitar at the age 8, she started performing at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. The first album she recorded was during the same year with Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. While she was a local star while in High School, she knew her dreams were much bigger. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show was in need of a new singer at around this point. Parton was hired in the year 1966. She was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's program as the popularity of her individual records including Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts. Parton recorded "I I Will Never Forget You" in support of Wagoner soon after their split. It was ranked No. The first time it reached the top spot was in 1974.
