Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle, she landed a role as "Starship Troopers" her role in Starship Troopers. It was a hard time when she had to change between modeling and acting because models were not considered to be good actors and were mostly given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy did not give up and eventually she landed bigger roles in films Varsity Blues and The 70s. Amy was then promoted to lead roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy attained the fame she'd been seeking for nearly 10 years when her film, Just Friends was released. The actress continued to appear in major films, such as Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a recurring character.
